It is so impressive to get to work with a company that has not only survived, but thrived for almost 50 years. Groves Electrical Services became a client of ours in August 2020. It was abundantly clear this company possessed a very special internal culture. Groves has maintained its family feeling even though it has grown from 4 employees to over 400 since opening its doors in 1972. 

We kicked off our work with Groves with in-depth market research on their behalf. They wanted to know how they compared with their competitors and what the soft spots were in the construction market. The results of the research informed the content that went into a new mobile friendly modern website.

One way we describe Groves in their updated branding is as a “concept to completion contractor”. As we researched the company and the modern construction market, their breadth of services offered was more diverse than all of their competitors, even those companies that were much larger. They can literally manage a construction job from the engineering phase through to delivery of a finalized project, and they wanted everyone to know that.

We designed social media and digital advertising campaigns across multiple platforms to communicate just what Groves is capable of. The misperception that they are just an “electrical contractor” was something they wanted to counter just as much as we wanted to correct it by highlighting the diversity of their services. We have devoted every month to highlight one of those many services, capping off each month with a video that further illustrates that service department’s capabilities. The combination of market research and an updated website allowed Innovations to immediately help Groves in the following ways:

  • Funnel targeted demographics, discovered through market research, to their new website.
  • Serve ads directly to decision makers in the construction industry on LinkedIn informing them of Groves’ capabilities. 
  • Support Groves staff by designing new print materials and a trade show booth to accurately represent their brand to new potential clients.

The future is bright for Groves. Recently, they named their third president in the company’s history. There is power in adding skills, keeping safety a key focus and allowing the company to be fluid in necessary change.Growth is happening now and in the future for Groves, so we’re excited to  to work with a company so dynamic and alive.
