By no surprise, it happened. And it happened quickly. Wendy’s announced on Twitter (the very next day) that the spicy nuggets are indeed, coming back. While they didn’t say when the nuggets will return to the menu, they claimed they will “figure it out soon.”
This isn’t the first time that Twitter has done the impossible and worked its magic. Just last week, overwhelming audience feedback forced the graphic redesign of Sonic in the upcoming movie, Sonic the Hedgehog.
Twitter has become the hotspot for consumers to voice their opinions directly to companies and it can be quite effective. This goes to prove how important social media plays a part in customer engagement and relationship building. In fact, 77% of Twitter users report feeling more positive towards a brand when their tweet has been replied to by the brand’s Twitter account.
Not only does building relationships on social media help grow your business, but so does listening to what people have to say. And Wendy’s crushed both of these. Moving forward, Wendy’s has huge potential for making an entire campaign from this simple social media movement when (or if) they begin serving the nuggets. We’re curious to see the direction they move in from this point.
The return of the spicy nuggs will be a glorious day and we’ll be sure to update you when the time comes. In the meantime, we’re waiting for you Wendy’s. And to Chance the Rapper, thank you.
