The Metropolis Area Chamber of Commerce is the hub for local business in Metropolis, Illinois. The chamber brings together entrepreneurs, employers, and leaders to collaborate and advocate for civic growth. The Challenge
When the Chamber came to us, they faced a perception gap. The general public was only aware of the chamber’s role in organizing the town’s annual Superman Celebration, not their role in overall community growth.
They felt their digital presence was dated and scattered, with logos changing from place to place, an inconsistent voice, and a website that made it hard to understand what the Chamber does, who it serves, and how to join. Staff were fielding basic questions the site should have answered, members struggled to find resources and events, and the board of directors felt like they were falling behind. They needed clarity, cohesion, and a modern platform that reflects their role in the community.
The Solution
We started with discovery, listening to the needs of chamber board members and benchmarking other successful chambers. From there, we built a brand that exudes knowledgeability and hometown pride.
- Visual Identity: A professional, welcoming visual system with thoughtful color choices inspired by Metropolis’s “Home of Superman” heritage, grounded by neutrals for credibility. Graphic cues nod to the river, farmland, and the region’s working economy.

Website: A streamlined site where locals can join the Chamber, members can access events and resources, and visitors can quickly understand what Metropolis offers. Clean navigation, clear calls to action, a business directory, and event listings that make it easy to engage.

Perception shifted. The Chamber now presents as the heart of local business in Metropolis, not just a carnival organizer. Internally, the team has a cohesive brand system and the confidence to use it.
